Beth has been in the education field for over 20 years as a Special Education Teacher. She earned a double major degree in Elementary Education (K-8) and Special Education (1-9) from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She also earned her master’s degree in Special Education – from the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse. She holds a lifetime licensure in elementary and middle school for General Education and Cross Categorical Special Education in the state of Wisconsin, as well as, a K-12 Special Education licensure in the state of Florida
Currently, Beth is a Direct of Upper and Middle School at Island Village Montessori School. Within her administrative role, she has direct oversight for teachers, special education referrals, the development and assessment of written Individualized Education Plans, professional development, presentations as needed and consulting and collaborating across the division. She has extensive experience as a teacher, working directly with complex students, as well as providing leadership and supervision to classroom educators in order to provide innovative and top-quality education and services so that students have the best opportunity to be successful in the public-school setting. Additionally, she is a trained and licensed American College Testing mentor and tutor and has assisted students nationally.
She has dedicated the better part of the last 20 years to improving the lives of students and teaching others how to practice being inclusive, patient and seeing the strengths in everyone. It is this passion that she brings to students when teaching.
